It seems like the fully redesigned 2016 Honda Civic only just went on sale this summer and now the 2017 model is on its way to Honda showrooms everywhere. The 2017 Honda Civic keeps all of the 2016 model’s luxury and power while adding some updates. For the 2017 Honda Civic, that means a turbocharged engine option and a six-speed manual transmission. This is great news for drivers who are looking for even more “kick” in their everyday drive. Here’s a closer look at what to expect from the 2017 Honda Civic turbo manual setup.

Before we take a look at the brand new 2017 Honda Civic, it’s important to identify how it has changed from the 2016 model. Like the 2017 Honda Civic, the 2016 model is available in LX, EX, EX-T, EX-L and Touring models. Where the 2017 Honda Civic and 2016 Honda Civic differ are the engine options available on certain trim levels. To start, the 2016 Honda Civic LX and EX are only available with a 158-hp, 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine paired with either a six-speed manual or continuously variable transmission (CVT). EX-T, EX-L and Touring models receive a turbocharged 174-hp, 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine paired with a CVT.

Now drivers can get the control of a manual transmission with a turbocharged engine thanks to the 2017 Honda Civic EX-T. This trim level offers drivers a unique way to get the six-speed manual transmission they want with the 174-hp, 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine they need. This means that there are now two ways to get a manual transmission on the 2017 Honda Civic, including the LX and EX-T. Do you prefer an automatic or manual transmission?
