Honda Type R sets front-wheel-drive production car record at Nurburgring

Years ago Honda set a Nurburgring record for front-wheel-drive production cars with it’s European market Civic Type R. Once news broke that a next-generation model would be coming to the North American market, Honda vowed that it would break its previous record and set a new one. We are proud to announce that Honda has done just that.

What is the 2017 Honda Civic Type R Nurburgring time?

The 2017 Honda Civic Type R set a new record for front-wheel-drive production cars with a 7 minute, 43.80 second time at Nurburgring. This is 7 seconds faster than the prior-generation model’s time, thanks to a variety of upgrades and revisions to the new 2017 model. The six-speed manual and 306-hp, 2.0-turbocharged four-cylinder engine under the hood really made a difference.
