Honda fans have eagerly been awaiting news of the 2017 Honda Civic Si and this month the wait paid off. The brand debuted the production version of the new 2017 Honda Civic Si on YouTube on April 6. The video contained track footage and a sneak peek at some of the vehicle’s new premium features. What’s more is Honda revealed that the 2017 model will be available in coupe and sedan body styles. This is great news for Honda fans as it further expands the 2017 Civic lineup and it’s many engine, features and technology options.
How powerful is the 2017 Honda Civic Si?
Honda’s new Si is one of the newest additions to the fully redesigned Honda lineup and will be followed by the high-energy Type R later in the year. While it’s not a new model, it does receive a variety of updates for the new year. It’s equipped with a more powerful 205-hp, 1.5-liter direct-injected turbo four-cylinder engine set to deliver 192 pound-torque.
The Honda Civic Si has always been known as the “sport” model in the Civic lineup. It has historically always had a bit more horsepower than other Civic models in the lineup and also comes with a variety of performance-focused features. For the first time in the North American market, the Honda Civic lineup will receive the high-performance Type R hatchback. This will be the most powerful Civic in the lineup after the Si.
The 2017 Honda Civic Si will feature plenty of new technologies, including new variable-ratio electric power steering and adaptive dampers. There are also helical-type limited-slip differential, more rigid chassis than before and larger front brakes. Inside the cabin the 2017 Honda Civic Si will be available with red-stitched seats – a signature look for the powerful model. There is also Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, dual-zone climate control, rain-sensing wipers, heated front seats, remote engine start and much more.
We expect the 2017 Honda Civic Si to go on sale as early as May 2017. Contact our team of experts to learn more about this stunning model or to reserve yours today!
