New Honda Civic Type R coming to Geneva Auto Show

2018 Honda Civic Si prototype at an auto show

When is the Type R coming to Ed Napleton Honda?

It’s official! The brand new Honda Civic Type R is due to make an appearance at the Geneva Auto Show in prototype form. Details and specs about the new hot hatch are still under wraps, but we anticipate that the new Type R will be available at Ed Napleton Honda before the end of the year.

Honda Type R set for summer debut

In fact, the new Type R could go on sale even sooner. Honda has revealed that as soon as the new Type R debuts in Geneva manufacturing will begin. The new hot hatch will be manufactured at Honda’s Swindon site this summer and from there will be exported to Europe, Japan and North America. We also know that the new Type R will feature a 2.0-liter VTEC turbocharged engine that could exceed 306 horsepower. With that said, the Type R is also expected to be the most powerful model in the Civic lineup.

What are your predictions for the new Type R? Do you think it will have over 306 horses? Let us know in the comments below!
