Will the Civic Si debut before the Type R?
Honda fans around the country have been waiting eagerly for the arrival of the new 2018 Honda Civic Si and Type R. These powerful new vehicles are slated to arrive as early as this summer, but that doesn’t make the wait any easier. Fortunately, there is plenty to discuss about these new vehicles while we wait. Especially the 2018 Honda Civic Si. Honda has been generous with it information about the new Si, but not so much so with the Type R. With that said, we assume the Si might be released before the Type R. Only time will tell! Here’s a closer look at the new 2018 Honda Civic Si.
How powerful is the 2018 Honda Civic Si?
This stunning sedan features a brand new look and feel that is very much in line with the new Civic lineup. The new sedan is expected to feature active dampers and steering systems, limited-slip differential and 19-inch wheels with high-performance tires. Under the hood the new Si is expected to feature a 1.5-liter direct-injected turbocharged four-cylinder engine paired with a six-speed manual transmission.
So far, Honda has only had prototypes of the new Si at auto shows, but we suspect the production model is in the works. With that said, the prototype we have seen has been covered in Si-branded accessories that may or may not make it onto the production version. Those include read stitching on the sport front seats, doors, steering wheel and shift boot. There is also red gauges in the cabin and aluminum pedals. Overall, the 2018 Honda Civic Si prototype is one slick-looking sedan.
